    PPE Compliance Agent

Confirms helmet, vest, boots, gloves and masks on every worker at the turnstile — before they enter the hazard zone. Statutory audit pack written automatically.

THE PROEFFICO WAY · SOLVING IGNORED PROBLEMS

“The missing helmet only shows up in the incident report.”Caught at the gate, before anyone steps onto the floor.

Everyone learns to live with the gap between “something happened” and “someone noticed.” We did not. Let the cameras do the watching and your people do the deciding — alerted the instant it matters, not hours later. From “that is just how it works” to “wait — it could work like this.”

    The Real Problem

Your PPE policy lives in a binder. Your accidents don't read binders.

Every industrial facility has a PPE policy. Every site has a posted sign. Every contractor is briefed. And every week, cameras catch someone walking through a hot zone without a helmet, in flip-flops, no high-vis vest — usually a contractor under time pressure, sometimes a long-tenured employee who knows the policy and decides today does not count.

When the inspector arrives — DGFASLI, factories inspectorate, OSHA, the contracting customer's HSE auditor — they ask for evidence of compliance. The HSE manager produces the binder, the policy, the attendance register, the briefing log. None of these prove that any given person was actually wearing the kit on any given day. The inspector knows. The HSE manager knows. The fine arrives anyway.

And worse: the incident. A worker not wearing a helmet at the wrong moment becomes a worker in hospital, becomes a death-and-injury filing, becomes a permit-suspension. The unanswered question is whether your site has done enough to stay on the safer side of that statistic.

How PPE Compliance Agent Solves It

    No helmet. No entry. Automatically.

PPE Compliance Agent verifies the kit on every worker before they enter the hazard zone. Per the VIZO361 datasheet (Use Case 02 — PPE Compliance Identification), a 4 MP camera focused on the entry / critical zone confirms helmet, high-vis vest, boots, gloves and mask against your per-zone policy. Deployment is approximately 2 days per zone-entry; training requirement is minimal once the policy is defined.

Compliant kit → the turnstile opens via dry-contact relay or REST to your access controller. Missing kit → turnstile holds, multilingual voice prompt plays ('helmet required to enter') in EN / HI / AR / regional, and the event is logged with timestamped clip + zone + missing item.

Every event is captured. The daily compliance scorecard goes to HSE, plant manager, contractor lead. The statutory audit pack — by worker, by zone, by shift, by date — is one click to PDF, suitable for DGFASLI, factory inspectorate, OSHA, GCC MoH and customer audits.

Known limitations (from the VIZO361 datasheet): false positives occur if PPE is partially visible or obstructed (e.g. by tools, clipboards, or other workers). Edge-case kits (mixed colour codes, contractor-supplied PPE that differs from site standard) require per-site calibration during the pilot. The agent halts entry pending kit correction; it does not issue disciplinary action automatically.

How PPE Compliance Agent works — end-to-end

From the moment a frame leaves your camera to the moment your hardware reacts. No black box — every step explained.

    STEP 01

    Define hazard zones + policy

Each zone tagged with the PPE required (helmet, vest, boots, gloves, mask, FRC, hearing). Per-shift / per-permit overrides supported.

    STEP 02

    Detect at zone entry

Camera at turnstile / zone gate detects approaching worker. Vision model confirms each required PPE item with confidence score.

    STEP 03

    Decision

All required items present + sized correctly → COMPLIANT. Missing or wrong item → NON-COMPLIANT with reason code.

    STEP 04

    Hardware actuation

Compliant → turnstile opens + access logged. Non-compliant → turnstile holds + voice prompt + violation logged + zone-lead WhatsApp.

    STEP 05

    Audit pack generation

Daily, weekly, monthly compliance reports per zone / contractor / shift. Statutory audit pack one-click export. Retention configurable for audit.

    Hardware Actuation

Detection without action is just an alarm. We close the loop.

Every PPE Compliance Agent event can trigger your existing on-site hardware. Wired or wireless. PLC, contactor, BACnet, MQTT or webhook — your choice.

    Turnstile / Zone Entry Lock

    Integration

Dry-contact relay or Wiegand / OSDP to existing access controller (HID, Honeywell, Suprema, ZKTeco, Matrix, custom).

    Outcome

Compliant worker → turnstile opens. Non-compliant → turnstile holds until kit is corrected and re-verified.

    Voice Prompt at Entry

    Integration

Audio-out to entry-zone speaker or PA system. Multilingual pre-recorded prompts.

    Outcome

Worker hears 'helmet required to enter' in their language. Most correct kit promptly. No supervisor escalation needed in routine cases.

    Zone-Lead Real-Time Alert

    Integration

WhatsApp Business API, SMS, Slack to zone supervisor / safety officer.

    Outcome

Repeated non-compliance by same worker or contractor → zone lead alerted. Escalation policies configurable.

    HR / Contractor Compliance Push

    Integration

REST / webhook to HRMS (Zoho, Keka, SAP SuccessFactors, custom) + contractor management system.

    Outcome

Per-worker compliance score logged. Contractor PPE-violation events charged back per contract terms. Auditable evidence for HR action.

    Statutory Audit Pack

    Integration

PDF + CSV export with chain-of-custody. Suitable for DGFASLI, factory inspectorate, OSHA, GCC MoH, customer audits.

    Outcome

One-click pull for any audit window. Evidence-grade. Replaces hours of manual log compilation.

    Insurance + Permit Reporting

    Integration

Monthly automated export to broker / insurance underwriter / permit authority.

    Outcome

Insurance premium discussions move from anecdote to data. Permit renewal applications include compliance evidence by default.

Where PPE Compliance Agent is deployed

Specific industries, specific scenarios, specific outcomes — not generic marketing claims.

    Manufacturing

Production-floor entry, hot-work zones, chemical bays

Helmet, vest, boots required on production floor. FR-clothing required in hot-work zones. Chemical-handling requires masks + gloves + apron. Each zone enforced separately.

    Warehousing & Logistics

    MHE-active zone entry, racking inspection

Forklift / MHE-active zones require high-vis vest + safety boots. Picker stations require head protection in racked zones. Loading-bay tractor-trailer interaction zones enforce specific kit profiles.

    Oil, Gas & Petrochem

    Tank-farm, refinery, gas-yard entries

Strict FRC + helmet + boots + gloves at every yard entry. Hot-work-permit-driven additional requirements. Compliance Agent provides audit-grade evidence.

    Heavy Industry & Mining

    Foundry, smelter, mine portal entries

Heat-rated PPE for foundries and smelters. Mining-portal compliance with cap-lamp, self-rescuer, dust-mask. Tied to permit-to-work documentation.

    Healthcare & Pharma

Clean-room entry, OT scrub-zone, biohazard areas

Mask + gown + cap + booties enforcement at clean-room entries. OT scrub compliance verified pre-entry. Biohazard zones enforce specific PPE protocols. GMP / FDA / ISO audit evidence captured automatically.

    Construction Sites

    Site-entry boom-gate, structural-work-zone perimeter

Site-entry verification on hard hat + vest + boots. Working-at-height zones enforce harness compliance (where harness is visible). Subcontractor compliance attributed by face recognition + contractor lead.

    ROI & Business Case

Compliance moves from 'good intent, varied practice' to 'enforced standard'. Audit fines avoided. Premiums posture improves.

Direct: avoidance of inspectorate fines and permit-suspension exposure. Specific fine ranges depend on the regulator (DGFASLI / OSHA / GCC MoH / customer auditor) and the violation class. Auditable PPE evidence at entry is the most effective single artefact for defending compliance.

Insurance: customers with auditable PPE evidence at hazard-zone entries have raised the case for workers' comp / employer liability premium reductions with their brokers. Specific reductions depend on jurisdiction, insurer, asset class — benchmarked during the pilot.

Operational: customers report PPE compliance moving from a 'good intent, varied practice' baseline to 'enforced standard' within 30–45 days of deployment. The single biggest driver is awareness — workers and contractors know the system is active. Specific compliance lift at your site is measured during the pilot.

PPE Compliance Agent vs the traditional way

Most facilities still run on the old playbook. Here's what changes.

    The traditional way

    • HSE walker spot-checks the floor a few times a shift — limited coverage
    • PPE policy + briefing log + posted sign — no proof of compliance at any moment
    • Non-compliance detected after the fact (incident) — too late
    • Contractor compliance is unmeasurable, charge-back disputed
    • Statutory audit means days of log compilation, manual evidence binders, inspector queries

    With PPE Compliance Agent

    • Every worker verified at every zone-entry, every shift. Coverage 100% by camera.
    • Hard evidence per worker per entry per shift. Audit pack one click away.
    • Non-compliance prevented at the turnstile — worker stopped before entering hazard zone.
    • Per-contractor compliance score. Charge-backs supported by evidence. Contract renewals evidence-driven.
    • One-click audit pack. PDF + CSV. Per worker / per zone / per shift.

Questions buyers ask before they sign

Will workers see this as Big Brother?

    +

Most customers find that the framing matters: 'we are protecting you' lands better than 'we are watching you'. We recommend a 2-week awareness phase before enforcement — voice prompts active, turnstile-hold disabled — so the team becomes familiar with the system before consequences begin.

What if a worker forgets their helmet for a legitimate reason?

    +

The turnstile holds, the voice prompt plays in their language, and the worker is given the opportunity to correct. If correction is not possible, the supervisor escalation flow takes over. The system is designed to be a coach, not a punishment.

Can it tell a hard hat from a bicycle helmet?

    +

Yes. The detection model recognises industry-standard PPE. Custom hard-hat colour codes (e.g. contractor blue, visitor orange, supervisor white) are supported and configured per site. Per the datasheet, performance is affected when PPE is partially visible or obstructed.

How does it handle masks in dusty environments?

    +

The agent recognises N95 / KN95 / FFP2 / FFP3 / surgical / industrial-respirator categories separately. In dust-required zones, only specific respirators are recognised as compliant — a surgical mask will fail the policy check.

Does it work in extreme conditions — heat, dust, gas yards?

    +

Yes. IP66+ rated cameras and heat-tolerant edge boxes for harsh-environment deployments. Dust does affect detection accuracy over time — we recommend a monthly cleaning schedule for cameras in heavy-dust environments. Intrinsically-safe cameras and explosion-proof housings supported for gas yards.

Can it integrate with our hot-work permit system?

    +

Yes. Most permit systems (Maximo, SAP PM, custom) can be integrated such that when a hot-work permit is active, the relevant turnstile / zone-entry switches to permit-mode PPE requirements. Permit-end automatically reverts to standard zone requirements.

What about subcontractors — do we need to enrol every worker?

    +

Subcontractor enrolment is on first sight: when an unfamiliar face arrives at the turnstile, the system captures the face vector + asks for a name/ID (or pulls from the visitor-management system). Subsequent visits are recognised automatically.

    What does it cost?

    +

VIZO361 is sold on a Private Offer model — pricing depends on number of turnstiles / zone-entries, scope of PPE policy enforcement, integrations with HRMS / contractor systems, and reporting depth. A 30-day pilot at one zone-entry is included.
